A man has been arrested and charged with seven firearm related offences, stemming from an incident on Monday morning..
Around 8:00 am, Regina Police were called out to a home to a report of a man who had been threatened with a loaded firearm on the 1300 block of Wascana Street. A statement from the Regina Police service says the man was inside the house was arguing with another man when he was threatened.
The victim was able to escape and didn’t sustain any physical injury.
Upon arrival, police cleared the residence’s occupants, then entered the home and apprehended Jason Bird.
Bird faces charges of a dangerous weapon, assault with a weapon, careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, use of a firearm in a commission of an offence and tampering with a serial number on a firearm.
Bird is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
