This morning as I made my way from our front steps out to my vehicle I almost went a** over tea kettle, tripping over a fairly big branch that got blown off our tree due to last nights high winds. I had a few items in my hands, but fortunately, I recovered and nothing went flying to the ground in front of me. If that would have happened during the daytime, I would have a had a quick peek around to see if anyone saw me! You know it’s a strange morning when the most dangerous part of getting to work is just trying to get to your vehicle.
I knew it was a little breezy before I went to bed, but it certainly wasn’t windy enough to snap off any branches. Nothing like letting Mother Nature cull your trees for you while you’re sleeping.
Our tree wasn’t the only one losing limbs. On the way to work I noticed a few big branches lying on the sidewalks. One was actually big enough that I had to drive around it on my way down 4th Avenue.
There was also a pair of running shoes right in the middle of the road this morning. I guess someone figured they were close enough to their destination that they just didn’t need them anymore. You see some very odd things on the way to work at 3 A.M., that’s for sure.
This will be it for blogs this week. Evans and I will be off to Craven starting tomorrow morning to broadcast from our Affordable Trailer Sales broadcast center from Country Thunder Saskatchewan. If you’ll be out there, drop by and say hi. We’ll be at our usual location, right at the end of main street by the beer garden.
