RCMP had to shut down Highway 14 east of Biggar for a few hours this morning after an incident involving a stolen truck that started in Saskatoon.
Police in Saskatoon attempted to end its pursuit of what was a stolen F350 in city limits by laying a spike belt down, but that attempt resulted in two tires being deflated.
The vehicle continued on its way down Highway 14 where RCMP decided to try and take out the other tires by laying down a spike belt.
The driver of the truck managed to avoid the belt by driving into the ditch, but he got stuck and could not get out.
Instead of getting out, the two men and two women in the truck stayed in the vehicle for about five-and-a-half hours before they were finally coaxed into surrendering without incident.
The names of the four and what charges they are facing have not been released.
