The provincial government announced the appointment of Cam Swan as the deputy minister to the Premier.
Swan comes from the SLGA where he served as President and CEO.
Swan said he’s looking forward to his new role.
“I’m very excited to take in on. Quite frankly, I’m honoured to even be considered for the role. I’m looking forward to the role, not knowing the challenges that are going to be there come Monday.”
Swan said he has a game plan going into first day Monday.
“Conversations like, what are the priorities overall, what are the priorities for government, how are we positioned public service wise to do that. I think then we’ll be starting to assess if we’re not positioned the way we want to be and how we’re going to do that.”
Swan said he hopes his background as President and CEO of the Saskatchewan Gaming and Liquor Association will enable him be the leader he needs to be.
He replaces Kent Campbell who served in the interim in that capacity since August of last year.
