Opening night at Country Thunder Saskatchewan 2018 was a quiet one for RCMP.
Corporal Rob King said no one was arrested, and zero calls for service were made.
King does however want to remind people when and how to call for help if you need it while at the festival.
“If you are calling the police and you need assistance, it’s very important to give a detailed description of where you are,” King said. “To say you’re at the campground or at the grand-stand does not work. Also make sure we have your contact information so we can phone you back as we’re searching for you. It’s little things like this that make things easier,” King added.
RCMP want people to know emergencies are still to be dialed in to 9-1-1, but they do not want people dialing 9-1-1 if their wondering if their friends are in custody or not.
To get that information people are asked to call the Lumsden Detachment.
King says people also need to remember to lock-up their valuables and not leave them sitting in the open.
