It’s day of four of five of corporate reports presentations in Saskatchewan and today, it was time for the province’s crown insurance corporation to present theirs.
According to their latest report, SGI posted a revenue of $59.4 million, a decrease the previous year, where revenues topped $65 million.
The Minister Responsible Joe Hargrave noted that the bottom line is something they’re quite pleased with.
“I think if we combined both of our premiums from SGI Canada and the auto fund, we’re probably in the top 10 around Canada.”
Totaled together, the gross premiums calculated combine to about $1.74 billion.
Hargrave noted it’s important SGI maintain the growth they have seen not only in Saskatchewan, but in other provinces where SGI Canada is now doing business: British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario.
In those four provinces, premium revenue totalled $277,421.
“When a company is diversified geographically, losses can be offset by profits elsewhere.”
