A Swift Current boy faces charges after an incident last month in the city where the RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit had to be called in to deal with a suspicious object.
The 17 -year-old, who can’t be named because of his age, has been charged with possession of an explosive without lawful excuse, and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.
On June 14, the Explosives Disposal Unit was called to the 400 block of Herbert Street East after receiving reports of what was thought to be a pipe bomb in a parking lot. Three suspicious items were located and destroyed at the scene.
The boy is scheduled to appear in Swift Current provincial court on Friday
