You know a rodeo is excellent when it continues after 86 years! The Moose Mountain Pro Rodeo weekend kicks off Saturday morning at 9 with slack. As a kid who grew up not far from this community of 250 people in southeast Saskatchewan I never fully appreciated how much work and how many volunteers are needed to make this a success every year. Now that I’m older, and MAYBE a little wiser, I appreciate the work residents in, and around, Kennedy put into the event. I saw this first hand last year.
620 CKRM will be on location for this year’s rodeo again. Not only will we be broadcasting from downtown Kennedy, but we’ll be participating in the parade which gets underway at noon on Saturday. This morning we caught up with organizer Tye Canacade to talk about what’s planned for the 86th event, which will see participants from all over western Canada.
