Johnny Manziel is a man on the move.
The Montreal Alouettes traded for the former Heisman Trophy and NFL first round pick on Sunday.
In exchange for the quarterback, Montreal sends the Ti-Cats defensive end Jamaal Westerman, wide receiver Chris Williams and two first-round draft selections in 2020 and 2021. The Alouettes also get offensive linemen Tony Washington and Landon Rice.
The Alouettes (1-4) have scored a league-low 69 points in five CFL games this season and it is hoped his presence will not only spark the offence but bring some crowds out to Montreal home games.
Manziel is trying to make a comeback in the CFL after being released by the Cleveland Browns in March 2016, but he had not played a down this season.
During the pre-season, Manziel was 21-of-32 for 168 yards and a touchdown.
