A service of remembrance is being held at Westminster United Church tonight to honour Korean war veterans.
With today marking the 65th anniversary of the signing of the Korean Armstice Agreement, a Regina man decided to organize an event to mark the occasion.
Organizer Logan Rohatyn said the event has lots in store.
“It will be just a brief moment of remembrance for some of the casualties that have taken place, which we had found out that there had been 40 Saskatchewan people who have either died in the war itself or while they were on leave, stuff like that.”
Rohatyn said it’s important that Canada’s participation in this war doesn’t get forgotten.
“We had a lot of lives that were lost, a lot of people are forgetting this war, (while) it’s publicized, we honestly don’t focus on this war, so that’s why I’m trying to bring it into light.”
The service starts at six, but people are asked to be seated by 5:45.
