Regina Police are continuing their investigation into a collision between a cyclist and vehicle on Friday afternoon.
Police were called out around 3:00 pm to the intersection of Dewdney Avenue and Retallack Street, where a 47 year old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A collision re-constructionist was called out as part of the investigative process.
Evidence was gathered, including video.
According to a release, it appears the vehicle was headed south on Retallack and came to a stop before making turning westbound on Dewdney. The eastbound cyclist was moving quickly on the north sidewalk of Dewdney and attempted to stop for the vehicle, but only the front brake worked .
The bike’s front wheel skidded and the man was thrown in front of the car as it began it’s turn. He was dragged a short distance before he emerged from under the vehicle. The operator of the vehicle was arrested and later released.
