Things officially get rolling tonight with the Queen City Ex parade. The parade will kick off from it’s usual location at Dewdney and Cameron at 7 and wind it’s way to the Tartan Curling Club, where prizes will be handed out for the top 3 floats. Watch for Cody and I in the 620 CKRM Country Cruiser.
Then at dusk when the sun goes down, the fireworks will light up the sky over Wascana Park. You’re never too old to enjoy fireworks!
The best part starts tomorrow when gates open at 12 and people, young and old alike, will start streaming in for the rides, the food, the entertainment, and the atmosphere.
I remember growing up in Lethbridge, the fair was the best thing to come to the city all year. It was like Christmas in summer! I just couldn’t wait. Every year on the Saturday night, my cousins would come in from Fort Macleod. My mom, sisters, cousins, aunt and uncle, would all make our way to the exhibition grounds and spend hours eating, riding, and just being in awe of all the sights and sounds. I absolutely loved it.
Enjoy it kids, because after that, the next big event is called “back to school.”
