A scary incident in the north end of Regina is cause for concern for vandalism victims.
A man was reportedly shot at after shouting at people who were spraying graffiti on his garage.
Regina Police spokesperson Elizabeth Popowich said there’s no need to point fingers at the victim for endangering himself.
“I wouldn’t criticize the victim as to what happened. It’s a serious matter, but in different situations, people will behave differently. It’s very difficult to provide a single answer that will work each time.”
Popowich said the victim did what they felt was natural in the circumstance
“It’s not up to us to advise how residents behave when they interact with someone. In some cases, when residents call out someone who is believed to be in criminal activity, it’s enough to scare them away.”
Police are still investigating the matter.
