The Regina Red Sox have taken down the beast of the east, and in the process, became that themselves.
The Sox edged the Weyburn Beavers in a winner take all game five in Weyburn, 7-6.
Matt DeNeau homered yet again for the Sox, while Brooks Stottler joined in on the long ball action, with the two going back to back in the 6th.

Sox got it done with a by-committee effort of the mound. Kyle Rogers started the game, going 3.2 innings with five hits, allowing three runs and striking out four. Anthony Race came in for 3.1 innings, striking out five and allowing three runs on six hits. Tyler Bernhardt and Adam De La Cruz came out in the 8th and 9th to mop up the rest of the game for the Red Sox.
Game one of the final gets going on Sunday in Medicine Hat at 7:05. The series will return to Regina for a Game 3 Tuesday and a Game 4 if needed Wednesday. This is the first time the Red Sox have played for the WMBL title since the 2015 season.
