Saskatchewan has broken a record when it comes to power consumption.
3520 megawatts were consumed across the province on Thursday after temperatures reached past 30 degrees across the province.
Jonathan Tremblay with SaskPower said we’re not done just yet with power consumption.
“Definitely quite the heat wave. We broke a record on Thursday evening and we may break it again Friday or even Saturday.”
The heat wave rolling through the prairies ended up breaking the previous record set last August at 3470 Megawatts.
Tremblay said there are ways to save on power this month, while still beating the heat.
“There are a lot of different things you can do, like the basics. Make sure the air conditioning isn’t on full blast when no one is at home.”
