This weekend we went from one extreme to the other.
The weekend promised to be hot. It did not disappoint with the egg frying heat of Saturday and then Sunday a wind change that brought in cooler temperatures through late Sunday until today.
Now we find those summer conditions are building back again for the latter part of this week. Whether or not you enjoy the heat, this is what Saskatchewan summers are like. Well, not really. This roller coaster of weather is something you might suggest comes with climate change. Strange things are happening all across North America.
Considering rain, dreary days and winds that rip the skin off your bones coming as soon as the end of September, I’ll take the shade of a big tree or the cool green grass for summer relief. My apartment has air, I don’t run it! And mostly, because of the noise. My apartment is on the 12th floor, no shade and lots of wind. Blow hot winds, blow!
I saw someone post that they were ready for winter weather. Guess what … most of us aren’t!!! So, grab a bag of ice and sit on it!
Chances are we won’t see those 40 degree days come back anytime soon. It was fun while it lasted. Feeling light headed, kind of sick and dehydrated. The pendulum is now swinging toward cool mornings, pleasant mid-days and late sunrises and early sunsets.
Will we ever be happy!
Just another year in the books.
