The Bikers Against Child Abuse are holding their Blue Ribbon Ride and Kids Day this Saturday.
The event will take place at Candy Cane park, with a ride to Regina Beach going later in the afternoon.
President of the organization, Travis Beattie, also known as “Hoss”, said people have responded positively to this.
“It helps raises awareness as who we are and what we do,” he said. “And the fact that child abuse is becoming an epidemic. And, to be quite honest, a lot of people don’t come forward because they don’t feel they have a decent support system, or fear, things of that nature.”
Beattie said the ride last year had about 40 to 50 people in it, and is hopeful more people will join it and spread the word about it’s cause.
“It’s definitely nice to see that people support us,” he said. “To be honest, I wish we could be more. But with events like this, hopefully we can spread the word and get rid of this epidemic.”
The event runs from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
