The National Lawn Bowling Championships are taking place here in Regina.
The tournament attracts bowlers from across the country and will compete at the Regina Lawn Bowling Club.
Chair of the 2018 tournament Lois Kos said over 170 bowlers are competing for the right to be named the nation’s best.
“Every province is represented if they have a team they can send. We’re hosting the men’s and women’s fours and pairs. Though there are some provinces that didn’t send a team. Nova Scotia is the only province of the Maritimes that didn’t send a team.”
Saskatchewan is sending over a dozen bowlers.
The winner of the singles tournament will represent Canada at the World Championships in Australia.
The tournament runs until August 29th.
