The CP women’s open put a large spotlight on some of the best female golfers in the world, as well as their caddies.
Some golfers used caddies from the Regina that have golfed the Wascana before.
Ryan McNall was a caddy for P.K. Kongkraphan from Thailand. He said it was a unique experience.
“You’re carrying somebody’s bag, cleaning their clubs, trying to stay positive, help them with reads, help them with clubs, and figuring out the wind, just trying to keep them in a positive mode.”
McNall said he used his experience golfing at the Wascana to help his player perform better.
“She hit it pretty close to the same distance as me, so I tried to give her the same lines and the same clubs, “McNall said. “They didn’t play all the tees back, usually when I play we’re playing right from the back, so some of the lines were a little bit different, but through my years here, I’ve played all the sets of tees, right from age seven.”
Unfortunately for McNall, Kongkraphan missed the cut by two strokes, finishing at even par after two rounds.
