The Regina Airport will be undergoing safety training that may seem alarming to those in the area.
The airport will be operating a full scale exercise at the airport, with what will look like heightened security and even a simulated plane crash.
CEO of the Regina Airport Authority James Bogusz said it’s over 150 people will be involved in the operation.
“It’s really important that we test those procedures, so if there real thing were to happen, we’ll be well prepared.”
Many different organizations will be involved including Regina Fire, Regina Police, City officials, Public Safety Canada and the Coroners Office.
Bogusz said there won’t be any disruption to any passengers.
“You can come and take your flight. We just don’t want people to alarmed if they see emergency sirens and lights at the air field. We’re going to have a live fire that will be put out on airport property.”
The exercise takes place on September 19th.
