If you were at the CP Women’s Open last week at the Wascana, you probably saw Canadian golfer Alena Sharp with a custom-made bag recognizing the Humboldt Broncos.
Sharp’s plan was to auction off the bag at the end of the tournament.
Golf Canada says that auction resulted in the bag being sold for $19,000 dollars.
The money raised by the auction is intended to buy new pediatric equipment for the Humboldt hospital.
Sharp finished last week’s event with a score of six-under 266 which was good for a tie for 36th.
As you likely know, Smith Falls, Ontario’s Brooke Henderson won the event. The win by the 20 year old was only the fourth time a Canadian had won a PGA or LPGA event on Canadian soil with no woman having won the national championship since Jocelyne Bourassa in 1973.
