The Humboldt Broncos community continues to be recognized in light of tragedy.
The Horizon School Division inducted the 2017-18 team to their Wall of Fame on Wednesday, saying the team provided ‘inspiration’ to the world.
Director of Education for HSD and former President of the Broncos Kevin Garinger said the school division and its families are still trying to find a new normal going into this school year.

“We have dealt with a considerable amount of grief and loss and we’re moving forward,” he said. “At the same time, we’ll never forget the 2017-18 school year and those who are with us and those who aren’t.”
Garinger said the Wall of Fame is an important part of the school division’s celebration day.
“When we consider the purpose and the importance of a Wall of Fame, it really revolves around recognizing the people of yesterday,” he noted. “The people who have gone on and supported our athletes, people who have gone on and done incredible things.”
16 members of the Broncos were killed, while another 13 were injured when the team got involved in a bus crash on April 6th. The Broncos were on their way to a playoff game in Nipawin at the time of the crash.
