Regina Police have charged a man in connection with a stolen car incident Saturday.
Around 4:30 pm, officers spotted a distinctive looking Cadillac CTS that was previously reported stolen. After plainly clothed investigators got a good look at the driver at various locations across Regina, a spike belt was deployed and the vehicle was found abandoned on the 600 block of Athol Street and the suspect driver was arrested.
A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded shotgun, a pellet gun and ammunition.
36 year old Jason Lee Sparvier is facing 12 criminal charges, 10 of them firearm related. Sparvier also had an outstanding warrant at the time and was banned from owning firearms.
He made his first court appearance on the matter Tuesday morning.
