An arbitration board has awarded the around 13,500 members of the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation with a two year contract.
The contract contains zero percent for salaries in its first year, with a 1% increase at the conclusion of the second year.
“While the salary package will be disappointing to teachers, it has to be viewed in the context of a persistent government demand for a 3.67% wage rollback,” said Saskatchewan Teachers Federation President Patrick Maze in a release, sent out Friday afternoon.
Premier Scott Moe had said the province will pay teachers whatever the arbitrators ruled.
The contract ends August 31st, 2019.
