Ken Grey is representing the Progressive Conservative party in the Regina Northeast byelection.
Grey, who works for Regina city para-transit, says the Sask Party government has become complacent and the NDP is not providing a strong enough opposition.
Grey said he relates to many people who live in the riding.
“They’re blue-collar folks, and we feel the pinch of the increased taxation that we’ve felt, we feel the pinch in the increase in SaskPower rates, and so I think the Legislature needs the voice of somebody who is experiencing this.”
Grey said people can send a message to government without toppling it.
“If people share my vision that taxes are too high, the mismanagement has been too extreme, now’s the time to tell both of these parties,” Grey said. “I call the NDP and the Sask Party the ‘spending coalition’ in the Legislature, if people want to send both of those folks a message, now’s the time to do it.”
The by-election takes place September 12th, and advance polls are already open in the riding.
