The president of SARM welcomes a provincial review of trespass laws.
The Justice ministry has posted a questionnaire asking for public input on trespass regulations.
The ministry is asking if all public access to rural property should require advance permission from the landowner.
If so, how should permission be sought and granted?
SARM president Ray Orb says the review is welcome, particularly because of rising rural crime.
He says changes are needed to protect farmers and ranchers on their own property.
But Orb says some accomodation may need to be made to trespass regulations for those seeking help in rural Saskatchewan.
The ministry of Justice wants a response to its on-line questionnaire by October 1st.
