After extensive research, Regina Transit is looking at lowering their prices when it comes to the monthly fares it charges.
Director of Regina Transit Brad Bells says they’re even introducing affordable monthly passes to transit users.
“Both of our monthly passes for our adults and youths, have been reduced a little bit more as well to create the incentive and the opportunity to get a monthly pass and receive benefits from that.”
Bells says they’re following suit with Saskatoon transit on this decision.
“There’s a program that we were doing in community services called the ‘affordable fund pass’ and we’ve matched that for transit as well. If you fall into that category, you’ll see a significant reduction.”
Bells says this will not change one time cash fares.
The proposal will go towards council later this month.
