Update – RCMP say alcohol is currently not believed to be a factor in Friday afternoon’s collision between a semi and converted school bus near Kerrobert.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene around 4:30 p.m. Friday and shutdown the intersection of Highways 21, 31, and 51 until 5:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
Investigation says the eastbound semi was hauling two trailers of canola when it collided in the intersection with the converted school bus carrying 15 oil pipeline workers and a driver.
The school bus came to a rest on its side in the north ditch, and the semi came to a stop in the centre of Highway 31 facing north.
The drivers of the bus and semi were not hurt, but ten of the workers were taken to the Kerrobert hospital with three then being transferred to Saskatoon, two by STARS Air Ambulance for further evaluation.
RCMP say all but one has been released from hospital, but did not provide an update on the condition of the person who remains
It’s not known if charges will be laid.
