The students at Riffel High School learned a bit more about workplace safety this week.
Youth Safety Education day took place at the school, through a partnership with Regina Catholic Schools and the Service and Hospitality Safety Association .
Kaylie McCall is a Grade 12 student at Riffel, she said it`s an important message for kids at her school to learn, no matter their age.
“Grade nines are new so it’s important to educate them, as well as grade 12’s because they’re older and wilder,” she said.
According to WorkSafe Saskatchewan, about 6,000 employees between the ages of 14 to 25 are hurt at work in Saskatchewan every year.
