An event designed at celebrating and keeping the conversation on an important topic happens in Regina on Wednesday.
The 6th Annual “Recovery Day” luncheon goes to recognize those who have recovered from drug and alcohol addiction in Saskatchewan and celebrate those who have made the decision to achieve long-term sobriety.
Organizer Rand Teed says drug and alcohol addiction can happen to anyone and that it is OK to be in and that there is nothing to be ashamed about. He adds one can still live a healthy, active and fun life without alcohol and drugs being involved.
“Life doesn’t need to involve drug and alcohol abuse,” Teed states. “You can have a successful, fun and happy life without having to do that. Many have done that and are doing that and they should be recognized for winning what is a very tough battle.”
The luncheon goes at the Conexus Arts Centre.
