The results from the Point-in-Time homelessness count are in for the City of Regina.
According to the survey conducted in April, it shows that the population of homeless people within Regina is similar to 2015 numbers, though slightly higher at 286.
Director of the Point in Time count Addison Docherty breaks down some of the demographics of homeless within Regina.
“47 per cent are male, over 50 per cent were female. Nearly 80 per cent of those who are homeless are indigenous. So either First Nation, Metis or Inuit and that’s actually an increase from our 2015 numbers.”
