If there was any question as to who would start in goal for the Regina Pats Friday night in Prince Albert as the season opens, wonder no more.
On Thursday morning, the team announced Max Paddock has been returned to the team by the San Jose Sharks.
Paddock is entering his 18-year-old season and first full year as the Pats starting goaltender. He took over the starting duties in the second half of last season and finished the year with a record of 19-7-1-1. Paddock recorded the third best goals against in the WHL last year at 2.90 and the 12th best save percentage at .904. He went on to put up a 3-1 record at the Memorial Cup and was named to the tournament all-star team.
His arrival means defenceman Cale Fleury is the only Pat still at an NHL camp as he remains in Montreal.
