Down 0-2 to start the season wasn’t how the Regina Pats planned on kicking off the 2018-19 season.
But alas, they are there.
After getting smoked 7-2 in their first game Friday night against the Prince Albert Raiders, the Pats returned hoping to bring things even on their turf last night. However, it wasn’t meant to be as Prince Albert once again emerged victorious, 3-1.
Regina got off to a good start, as a dazzling rush from Aaron Hyman potted a backhander earlier to get the game started off. It didn’t Prince Albert long to respond, as they buried two goals to lead 2-1 after two periods. A power play goal in the third from Brett Leason sealed Regina’s fate and the Raiders second win of the year.
Pats will next be in action on Friday, when they’ll be taking on the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Catch the game on your home for the Regina Pats, 620 CKRM, with the pre-game show at 6:35 and puck drop at 7.
