Much appreciated, but sometimes getting home cooked meals from strangers is a mystery.
I’m kind of a fan of an industrial kitchen or at least knowing a bit about the process or the sourcing of the ingredients. Having said that, do you eat the food that is brought in by fellow employees – OR is it only certain employees that you view as worthy in the kitchen!
Pies at work, a casserole delivered to someone grieving the loss of a family member or close friend, soup to a shut in – these are all wonderful ideas and deeply personal acts of kindness and caring. They are appreciated when we are confident in their origin and the spirit of which they are delivered!
When I worked in Alberta, I had an admirer that was a roofer (apparently) and he would leave me PIES in random places – out front of the office, or on my car! There might be a note attached to them, but I can honestly say I never met him. The guys I worked with did know who he was and we just called him “Gummy Bill”. No apologies / apology here! There was NO way I was eating this “Anthrax Pie” that was sitting outside the station on the sidewalk!!
I know you aren’t trying to kill us, but it is just a little side thought, your kindness is always appreciated, a thank you or a card is pretty great too! Ingredients for making and baking are too expensive to end up being wasted!
