The Regina Pats and Victoria Royals have made a trade that sees a goaltender coming back to Regina.
The Pats have sent an 8th round pick in the 2020 bantam draft and a conditional 5th round pick to the Royals for 18 year old Dean McNabb. Regina also gets a 9th round pick in the 2019 WHL bantam draft.
The 6-foot-2, 176 pound McNabb is from Davidson and was taken in the 3rd round o the 2015 WHL bantam draft by the Royals. He appeared in 30 regular season and three playoff games for the club last season.
Before going to Victoria, McNabb played for the Regina Pat Canadians of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League during the 2015-16 season. McNabb appeared in 18 games for Regina and collected an 11-5-0 record to go with a 2.15 Goals Against Average, 0.904 Save Percentage and three shutouts as the Pat Canadians finished as the top team during the regular season.
McNabb is the younger brother to Vegas Golden Knights defenceman Brayden McNabb.
The Pats are off until Friday when Lethbridge visits.
