CN Rail says grain movement so far this crop year in Saskatchewan is at its fastest pace in 4 years.
Vice president Sean Finn says grain shipments since the first of August in this province total almost 2 million tons, compared to 1.5 million tons in the same period last year.
He says grain movement on CN Rail in Saskatchewan since the first of August has jumped 30 percent from last year.
CN also reports carload spots are just under 21 thousand, compared to 16 thousand last year.
Finn says CN intends to maintain a strong grain movement pace for the rest of the fall and winter.
Finn is on a tour of Western Canada to meet with stakeholders and update provincial governments on grain movement.
