The province is continuing to grow as the population has reached 1,162,052 people.
Statistics Canada released their report and said that this is an increase of 11,280 people in the past year, and an increase of 3,226 in the past quarter.
“Saskatchewan’s population has grown for more than 49 consecutive quarters, showing that our province is the place to be to live, work and to raise a family,” Immigration and Career Minister Jeremy Harrison said. “Newcomers to Saskatchewan are adding to the strength of our province and contributing to our growing economy.”
During the second quarter of 2018 (April 1 to July 1), Saskatchewan’s population increase was made up of a natural increase (births minus deaths) of 1,659 and net international migration of 4,385, offset by net inter-provincial migration of 2,818.
