The new Saskatchewan rink skipped by former Canadian junior champ Matt Dunstone has had some early success.
The rink which comprises Dunstone, third Braeden Moskowy, second Catlin Schneider and lead Dustin Kidby won the Prestige Hotels and Resort Curling Classic in Vernon BC on the weekend.
The rink went undefeated on the weekend beating Jim Cotter in the final by a score of 8-5 to collect a first place cheque of $5000 and almost 24-thousand points on the World Curling rankings.
The Cotter rink has former Saskatchewan champ Steve Laycock as their third this season.
Closer to home, Carlyle’s Candace Chisholm won the first event of the Saskatchewan Womens Curling Tour which went at the Highland this weekend. Chisholm beat Michelle Englot in the final to win the 16 team event.
