The city of Regina is developing a policy that will define criteria for property tax exemptions for non-profits.
And they’re looking for your feedback.
Deborah Bryden, the Director of Assessment and Taxation for the city, noted a survey has been published on the city’s website.
“It’s about what taxpayers are comfortable in supporting in terms of the non-profit incentives for non-profit organizations.”
According to a statement, city council annually considers the exemptions for those non-profit groups that operate within Regina.
At this time, Bryden said there’s no policy offering guidance on this matter.
“The policy focuses on the needs of Regina residents, while it’s ensuring it’s support remains affordable for taxpayers.”
