Saturday we pulled all of the flowers from the flower bed, put the bird bath away, and raked up leaves. As I mentioned in Monday’s blog, the raking might have been a little premature, seeing as we now have more leaves on the ground than we did before. Oh well, it’s a good thing I love to rake. Not!
Yesterday I put the hose away and turned the water off. I really can’t see myself needing to water anything for the next 6 months or so.
One thing I haven’t done yet is put our patio furniture away for hibernation. I’m still holding out hope that we might get a couple of more weeks of sunshine with temperatures where they should be, in the mid-teens. Our back yard looks so desolate without the furniture out on the deck. I know it’ll eventually have to go, but I’m not going to give in until we have a foot of snow on the ground. At that time I’ll probably give up on the notion that deck weather is still a possibility.
How many sleeps until spring?
