“Water issues” under the turf at Mosaic Stadium have caused some Regina high school football games to be relocated to Leibel Field.
The Regina High Schools Athletics Association sent out an e-mail late Wednesday afternoon stating games that were to be played at Mosaic on Thursday have been moved to Leibel because of a problem with drainage caused by an ice blockage created by melting snow.
Evraz Place officials believe the problem has been fixed and that repairs made will mean this situation doesn’t happen again.
The Riders did not practice Wednesday as they are still on a break following their win in Montreal last Sunday. The team is to be on the field Thursday morning to get ready for Monday’s home game against Edmonton. It is believed the practice will go ahead outdoors as scheduled.
