Canadian country great Jimmy Rankin is back with a new album and a new tour. He’ll play the Casino Regina Show Lounge on Wednesday, October 10th at 8 p.m..
“The album is called “Moving East.” I was living in Nashville for about eight years and then back to Nova Scotia (and) I made this record on the east coast which features all east coast musicians from top to bottom, east coast art work, it’s an east coast record, and I’m touring it across the country now,” explained Rankin.

He says they left Nashville for a few reasons but the main factor was for his family. While in Nashville, they kept a place in Cape Breton Island and he always wanted to return to hit roots and raise his kids there.
As you’ll hear in the interview, “Moving East,” is like coming full circle for Rankin. There are 11 tracks on his new project, one of which is titled “Turn That Boat Around.”
“It was actually a song that I wrote that my sister, Cookie, sang on a record we recorded back in 1990 or 93,” noted Rankin.
He’s got two dates in Saskatchewan. Regina on October 10th and Saskatoon on October 11th. Tickets details available by clicking here.
