Saskatchewan’s best cadets are receiving recognition from the top.
Three corps, two of which are from Regina, will be receiving the Premier’s Commendation of Achievement.
Saskatchewan’s Military Liaison Greg Lawrence firmly believes that the cadet program is one of Canada’s most unsung.
“It promotes leadership, citizenship, fitness,” he said. “It teaches our young folk how to be great citizens, it’s an amazing program.”
The 155 Royal Regina Rifles will be honoured at a ceremony on Tuesday, while the 41 Hercules Royal Canadian Air Cadet squadron will be a honoured at ceremony November 14th. Lawrence said the award the cadets will be distinguished with is the top one they can receive at a provincial level.
“Each cadet in the squadron receives a pin that is recognized by the province as part of the top cadet corps in the province.”
The 45 Jervis Bay Royal Canadian Sea Cadets in Saskatoon are also being recognized at a ceremony on October 23rd.
