My legs are a sorry mess this morning. My thigh muscles have been so sore I’ve been popping Tylenol like candy. Sitting on the edge of the bed, I could hardly bring me legs up far enough to get my socks on. Whenever I got up off the couch yesterday, I wobbled a bit before making my way to wherever I had to go. It was terrible. Yesterday, these legs felt worse than they ever had before and this morning is not much better.
Please don’t worry, I have no illness. No, what affected these legs so horribly yesterday and this morning could be attributed solely to the Golden Mile Mall, or, at least what was within the walls of the mall…the bowling alley.
Saturday night all of our ‘RM announcers got together for a night of bonding. Instead of bonding over drinks or supper we decided to bond over a bunch of bowling balls. Hey, I was all game for that. I used to be in a bowling league when I was young and my wife and I had bowled with friends in the past, so this was right up my alley, so to speak.
Apparently I had lost some of my bowling skills somewhere along the line. By the time the dust had settled at the end of the first game I found out just how badly I sucked at bowling. I finished dead last.
By the next game I found my rhythm and actually finished second last. If we had bowled 6 more games I might have finished first! However, trouble was brewing. By the end of the second game my muscles were already aching and I knew things wouldn’t be pretty for a couple of days, and they weren’t. I’m glad we left after that. With my thigh muscles as sore as they were, I wasn’t sure if I’d have enough strength walk out of the bowling alley.
I eventually did make it out of there and back home. It was a great time.
The only things that didn’t have a great time that night were my thighs!
