If you’re looking to get a few more swings in, you might want to make your way to the course quickly.
That’s because the few remaining open will be closing soon.
“We’ve got the Joanne Goulet open until the end of day Sunday,” said Sean Raison, the city’s Manager of Cemeteries, Golf Courses and Landscape Trades. “We’ve got the Murray Golf Course open until the end of day Sunday and we’ve got the Tor Hill which is open, weather permitting, until the end of day Sunday, October 28th.”
Raison noted there’s a good reason why golf courses usually close down for the season this time of year.
“When we get consistent minus temperatures overnight, obviously the soil temperatures start to drop and the turf goes into dormancy,” he said. “The healing factors of greens. Right now, the soil temperatures are too cool and they can’t combat any kind of damage, so divets, traffic.”
