If you’re a resident of Saskatchewan or a lover of history, the chances for your to own a piece of provincial history just increased.
The Royal Saskatchewan Museum announced some exhibit artwork and other paraphernalia will be sold off via an online auction.
“We just recently released a half a million dollar grant, almost, from the federal government to create a cultural space in the museum itself,” said Michelle Hunter from Friends of the Royal Saskatchewan Museum. “Along with that, we have an opportunity to install our T-Rex, Scotty.”
Through this auction, interested buyers will see some pictures from the Map Room up for grabs, as well as pieces from the Human Factor and Zoom exhibits.
“We thought we had a great opportunity to not only to involve and engage the community, who love the museum so dearly, but also to be able to try and divert some things away from the landfill,” said Hunter. “Parts of exhibits that might end up there at some point.”
