Ethel Clarkson is the latest Saskatchewan lottery winner, and she didn’t even have to buy the ticket.
Clarkson won a max-millions $1 Million prize on last week’s lotto max draw.
She says the ticket was a birthday gift from her grand-daughter.
“I don’t like them to buy me stuff, so I said ‘just a kiss would be fine,’ and she said ‘oh Grandma, that’s a given,'” Clarkson said. “Then I said ‘oh, just buy me a lottery ticket then.'”
Clarkson is the 10th person from Saskatchewan to win a million dollar lotto prize since February.
She says she was quite surprised to find out she won.
“I was in my bed room, and I ran down the stairs, and I said to my son ‘I think I won the lottery,'” Clarkson said. “He checked, looked at the numbers, and then he scanned it on his phone, and first it didn’t come up, it wasn’t available. Then he tried it again, and it said ‘it appears you’re a million dollar winner.'”
Friday’s Lotto Max Jackpot is estimated at $60 Million, with 55 max millions prizes.
