A Regina man made his first court appearance Tuesday after being charged in connection with a standoff Monday afternoon that forced a portion of Dewdney Avenue west of Albert to be closed for a good chunk of the afternoon.
Officers were called to the 2900 block of Dewdney just before noon after getting a report of a domestic assault in progress. Upon arrival, a woman was found with injuries with a child also allegedly beating assaulted as well.
Efforts by police to get the man out of the home were not met at first with success causing a two-block closure of Dewdney between Rae and Robinson
The man, whose name is not being released, did eventually come out of the home without incident around 3:30 and was charged with assault and breach of undertaking,
