NDP leader Ryan Meili is condemning the adjusted dates for the 2020 provincial election.
Premier Scott Moe says the election will be held October 26th and municipal elections will be 2 weeks later.
Meili says the province should go to the polls in the spring of 2020.
He says a spring election would give the people of Saskatchewan a chance to voice their choice about the future of the province.
Premier Scott Moe says the SaskParty campaigned on set election dates but changes have had to be made to avoid conflict with past federal and future municipal elections.
Moe says the October 26th election date is a compromise which seems to make municipalities and school boards happy with the choice.
He says under the NDP, there was only 28 days notice.
