Regina Police want to make the public aware of emerging crime trends in the community.
One of them is thefts from autos, with 313 of them taking place between October 2nd and 30th.
That’s an average of over 10 a day.
“Lock your doors, take spare keys out, garage doors openers because that could lead to a break and enter in your home,” said Regina Police Service spokeswoman, Tamara Sentes.
It’s important, said Sentes, for anyone with valuables in their to either hide or remove them.
“If they (thiefs) see something bag, a purse or there might be valuables inside that, it’s worth it for a criminal to think that that could be a target.”
Another trend police have noticed is an uptick in license plates, with 84 of them occurring in October as well.
“People need to look and see the license plate they have is their own.”
